Bams and Ted Pop Up Store
Have you ever found yourself completely besotted by the clothes worn by a fictional character? Forget Carrie Bradshaw, wouldn’t you rather dress like a 1920s English aristocrat?
Meet Bams and Ted; the vintage pop-up shop that isn’t afraid to fall in love with fashions of fiction, sourcing the wardrobe you covet in your cinematic and literary dreams.
Each incarnation of the store is themed and named after a character from a novel or film, culminating in collections of clothes which channel a distinct style and era. It’s the costume box you can dive into with dignity.
The current store is inspired by Sebastian Flyte of Evelyn Waugh’s Brideshead Revisited, the libertine who makes it his business to look as dapper as possible in a three-piece suit while engaging in debonair debauchery.
Bams and Ted responds with a collection of thick woolen cardigans, dashing sportscoats and leather oxfords, all reminiscent of the fine gentlemen of the ’20s.
But fear not ladies! There are romantic drop-waist dresses, delicate petticoats, mid-heeled leather pumps and more, all inviting you to play out your English manor fantasies.
The Locksmith gallery has been decked out with relics and furnishings of the Brideshead era with some utterly charming results. Everything here is genuine vintage and because each garment has been especially selected to suit the theme, there is no filler – just beautiful clothes.
Previous themes have taken on characters as diverse as the type-writing-detective Jessica Fletcher of Murder She Wrote, to the mysterious and ethereal Miranda of Picnic at Hanging Rock. Keep your eye on Bams and Ted; no matter what or where it pops up next, it is sure to inspire you to slip into character.
