Surry Hills Markets

Surry Hills MarketsOn the first Saturday of every month Crown Street turns into a buzzing hive of bargain hunters. Not new to the scene, the Surry Hills markets have been around for a while but if you haven’t experienced them yet, you’re missing out.

There’s something for everyone, from browsers to hardcore fossickers. Consisting mainly of second hand clothes stalls run by friendly marketeers, you’ll find your perfect match that has been loved in another life. 1940’s dresses to 1970’s ornaments, steals from the golden 80’s and a few contemporary fashion designers’ pieces thrown in for good measure.

If you fancy yourself a bit of a seamstress then you’ll find plenty of little treasures to be tailored, and voila, fashion a la moi! You’re also bound to find something for that themed party coming up in your social calendar. From designer vintage to a pleather fur trimmed coat…these markets don’t discriminate.

The markets start at 7am for the optimists, but for those of you who may have enjoyed one too many martinis last night, they’re open until 4pm…so never fear, there’s plenty of time for a little sleep in.

And if all that shopping makes you peckish, take your pick from local favourites Four Ate Five, Kawa Cafe and Remy & Lee’s.
