Welcome to Blanket Bay. It’s American hunting lodge meets alpine chalet, located a mere 40 minutes from Queenstown on the northern tip of Lake Wakatipu.
New Zealand is renowned for its spectacular lodges and this one in no exception. Built by Pauline and Tom Tusher, former President and CEO of Levi Strauss worldwide, they have created a majestic retreat sparing no expense.
You’ll love the soaring 30 foot ceilings in the Great Room, roaring fireplaces, jacuzzi overlooking the glassy lake and the food…oh the food. Every evening commences with cocktails followed by a 5 course meal prepared by world-class chefs…meaning you’ll need to be forklifted out at the end of your stay.
There’s so much relaxing to do that the hardest part is figuring out where to begin. Activities on offer include hiking, horse riding, jet boating, day trips by helicopter to Milford Sound, fly fishing and spa treatments.
Or you could just nestle into that comfy chair in your 70 sq. metre chalet suite, take in the snow capped mountains around you and continue working your way through the local beers on offer.
