If you’re looking for a weekend local where the people are friendly and the vibe is oh so chilled, then you’ll feel right at home at North Bondi’s Porch & Parlour.
It’s Santa Cruz meets…well, Bondi, with seats on the sidewalk, a communal table, exposed brick walls and the amazing smell of cinnamon wafting from the kitchen.
For brekkie you won’t be able to go past the “Smashed Eggs” – free range eggs rolled in fresh basil and rock salt with avocado on sourdough or the apple, date & almond bircher muesli with poached pear.
Settle in for the afternoon with a Toby’s Estate soy latte on the floral couch. You’ll feel like you’re at grandma’s house…well, she’d have to be a pretty cool grandma. Or even better, make the reading nook your office and enjoy free wifi while continuing to indulge in the expansive menu of salads and other goodies, all $13 or under.
Next door in the “Porch” part of the duo you’ll discover treasures from TMod, Happy Socks and Skinny Nelson and Friends.
Started by five mates from Perth – Sarah, Sam, Gaby, Matt and Michael – they wanted to create a space with a community feel…and they’ve done just that. And they’re already planning to expand with the addition of a gallery space out back and evening screenings of favourite beach flicks.
You’ll feel part of the family in no time.
