St Malo Bakery

St Malo Bakery BreadThanks to St. Malo Bakery, committing carbocide has never felt so sin-free. How? The freshly-opened artisan bakery’s organic ingredients make their savoury and sweet treats a touch more saintly.

St. Malo’s specialty in artisan organic breads and pastries is a pleasant change from the North Shore’s buttering of chain store bakeries. Enhancing their exclusivity is the age-old artisan baking techniques used, which unlock and amplify the flavour of the organic flour and other ingredients.

Be baffled by their extensive bread selection, including white and multigrain sourdough, rye, light rye, French L’ancienne bread sticks and rolls, Kalamata olive bread and the dense German Vollkorn Saaten loaf. And those with wheat intolerances and special dietary needs will glow over the gluten-free loaves and spelt scones, breads and bagels. But, the bread can’t take all the credit, since other scrumptious creations include cakes, tarts, slices, sandwiches, pies, quiches and sausage rolls.

Feel like you’re in France with the bakery’s French farmhouse style. The quaint surrounds married with mellow jazz playing create the perfect atmosphere to sit for a snack, breakfast or lunch. Think Brioche French Toast and Sautéed Mushrooms & Chorizo on Toasted Olive Bread; Provincial Platters and Soup of the Day with crusty sourdough. Also, be sure to get a glimpse of the bread masters at work in-house. Or, if you only have a slice of time, grab your freshly-baked goods on the go.

Luckily at St. Malo you can have your bread and eat it too. No need to visit the confessional. Unless you overdo it with a bagel binge…

What a great recommendation – thank you – I visited St Malo Bakery on Saturday to try out their Gluten free bread options and they are FANTASTIC – everything is made with LOVE you could taste it in every bite. I purchased a few loaves as they are able to be frozen which helps. The staff are knowledgable and very helpful when recommending something Yummy to have as well (Gluten Free of course!)

Tried this place on the weekend. Asked for advice on which bread they recommended for Sea Food Broth. The lady talked me through almost all the breads, was really friendly and clearly knew her stuff.
I left with a lovely crusty olive bread that was deeeeeeelicious.

Will definitely be back next time i’m in Crowey !
