Bamboo Dumpling Bar Opens

Bamboo Dumpling BarWe love a new asian eatery and Bamboo Dumpling Bar doesn’t disappoint. The new digs in Surry Hills have only been open for 2 weeks but already they’re churning out dumplings faster than you can say “Gow Gee”.

Take a seat at one of the many communal tables and choose from inspired dishes such as Chilli Prawn Spring Rolls, Coconut Chicken & Peanut Skewers, Peking Duck Pancakes with Hoi Sin Sauce, Tempura Fish with Wasabi Mayo, Roast Suckling Pig and of course the obligatory Sirloin of Beef with Miso Butter.

Oh and for a dumpling bar, you’d expect a decent line up of well, dumplings… and again these guys deliver. Popular dishes include the Pork & Chive Dumplings, Mushroom Gow Gee and classic Xiao Long Buns….or if you simply can’t decide, they’ll give you a mixed selection.

While waiting for your order, you’ll enjoy surveying the quirky surrounds from the bamboo in pots, waving gold cat and green walls to the hanging bicycle, capitalist Mao print and puffer-fish in a birdcage.

With pub-price drinks supplied by adjoining Royal Albert Hotel and the most expensive item on the menu at $15.50, there’s no need to leave wonton more.
