En-O Spells Yes

Enopizzeria Opens
At last, Neutral Bay is no longer so…neutral. Trendy eating and drinking venues like Enopizzeria have been springing up faster than you can dial Domino’s. But here, there’s no plastic pizza in sight. Rather, Enopizzeria offers a real slice of Italy.
Owner Mauro Marcucci is no stranger to the restaurant game, with hot spots such as Pizza e Birra and Mille Vini already on his resume. With Enopizzeria as his latest venture, he proves he’s got his dining destinations down pat.
The part pizzeria, enoteca and restaurant is sophistication minus the snootiness. Its décor is warming like a pizza straight out the oven; a heavenly haven on a winter’s night (or any season for that matter). The rich-tones run from the blackboards to the dark shelves dazzling with wine bottles to the leather lounges lining the room. Although the mature mood is tossed with the paper tablecloths doubling as menus. The bambino won’t be the only ones requesting some crayons…
At Enopizzeria it’s all about conviviality; perfect for couples, oldies, families and fly young things. Sharing is the go with moreish “inizi”, including Eggplant Smoked Mozarella and Basil Croquettes, and Beef and Peas Stuffed Arancini Balls. Plenty of pizza choices will surely see further passing and picking. Why wouldn’t they, when made in the true Napoletana style?
For the more refined, there’s “continui”, with dishes like lamb, spatchcock, risotto and feather-light pastas. Like it or not, several spoons may be needed for delectable desserts such as Soft Centred Chocolate Tort Cocoa and Ginger Sorbet, and Ricotta Pancake With Aromatic Poached Pears and Acacia Honey.
It’s time to reset your GPS. Under “Italian”, inner-city and inner-west has-beens are ready to be replaced with the previously more neutral side of Sydney. Now, thanks to Marcucci’s Italian job, this dining district is blinking hot.
