Burnt Orange

Burnt OrangeIt’s Sydney’s best kept secret, except that after almost a year in business, it’s not so secret anymore.

Welcome to Burnt Orange – the ultimate place for a casual brunch with friends, family lunch (booked anywhere for Father’s Day yet?) or afternoon tea any day of the week. Yes you can book. Yes they take groups. No, they don’t do functions.

Nestled down the end of Middle Head Road at George’s Head, you’ll love the converted sandstone golf club house from the 1930’s with its grand, sweeping verandah and vistas of the Harbour.

Tuck into classics like organic porridge with figs, prunes and Riverina cream, buttermilk pancakes with double smoked bacon and maple syrup and homemade scones with fresh marmalade and jams for breakfast…and chicken & leek pot pie and organic beef burgers for lunch…check out the full menu here.

Afterwards, wander the boutique retail store that includes gourmet foodstuffs, clothing, beautiful ceramics by renowned Irish brand, Avoca, and other gorgeous homewares and gifts.

Ripples at Chowder Bay was so 2009. Burnt Orange is so 2010.

Went to check out Burnt Orange on the weekend with friends from interstate. Was very dissapointed when waitress forgot our order after 40 minutes waiting, then when food did arrive, my eggs benedict was luke warm. Unfortunate for such poor service for such a great venue!
